ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS All work should be done in the "Patients" tab (located at the bottom of this spreadsheet) 1. Review the headings of the columns. Do the column headings match your expectations for the Patient Registration screens? Are there columns that are not needed for registration at your facility? Mark the data in the entire column(s) in yellow. (For the remaining tasks, you will only be working with the columns that are NOT yellow.) 2. Consider whether the names of the column headings match your expectations for how you would use them. Which column heading should have a different name to be meaningful in the healthcare setting? Rename it and highlight it in blue. 3. Review the data in each remaining column. Each column contains at least one error. Locate one of the errors and highlight it in blue. In the space below the column, describe the problem you found and what directions you would provide for fixing the problem. For example, in Column A, there are duplicate ID numbers. You would instruct the programmer that you need the EHR to run a check for duplicate numbers. There is one other error in column A for you to find. Then repeat this process for the remaining columns that you have NOT made yellow in step one. When you find the errors, mark them in blue. 4. There are some recommended (per your readings) columns that are missing. Insert at least three missing columns on the spreadsheet and highlight them in green. You do not need to fill in any data. 5. For each of the three columns that you added in step 4, add the choices for those headings (i.e., words next to the radio buttons). If a certain format is needed, specify that. If the field should contain free text, specify that. 6. At the bottom left of this spreadsheet, make a heading that states SEXUAL ORIENTATION IDENTITY. In that column, provide the words that would make up the choices for that heading (i.e., words next to the radio buttons). Include the wording recommended by the National Academies (2022) to be used to ask this question. Based on your readings, would you ask this question of every patient? Explain why/why not.
