At the end of the checklist, re-write the two APA statements below based on your understanding of the current statistical practices recommended in the special issue. In both examples, M = Mean, SD = Standard Deviation.

1. "A dependent-samples t-test was conducted to compare hours of sleep before and after caffeine consumption. There was a significant difference in scores after the consumption of caffeine (M=5.4, SD=1.14) as compared to before the consumption of caffeine (M=9.4, SD=1.14); t(4)=-5.66, p < 0.05. These results suggest that the consumption of sugar by humans does not have an effect on memory for words."
