Assignment: You are the Human Resources Representative at a large, unionized manufacturing plant, and have been asked by your boss, the Manufacturing Manager, to design a formal orientation program for all new plant employees (NOT \"office\" employees) who are hired to work in the plant. The orientation will be face to face meeting with the new employees, their very first day of employment. It will last one full day. The format should be an agenda for the day with time frames and topics to be covered, and a narrative to explain details of some of the more important topics. The narrative should also include what handouts the participant will receive. You will lead the session and include other employees of your choice to make presentations to the new employees on specific topics. The topics are things that new employees need to know right away, and should be practical, as well as informative. Keep in mind that this is a manufacturing environment, so some employees will be operating equipment. However, the orientation information should apply to all employees, regardless of their individual jobs.
