The ERP system implementation project is an IT project with intensive programming and testing processes. Therefore, I expect our human resource management group to recruit a team with professionals have at least 10 years work experience in the IT industry.

Since our company is competing in a highly competitive industry (the manufacturing and retail industry), the total time of ERP implementation should be no more than a year. Therefore, I have decided to launch the Big Bang approach for our ERP system.

Considering the high costs of implementing ERP system modules, I have decided to implement only the MM (material management) and SD (sales and distributions) modules to save the budget for our corporation. For other functions in the organization, we will still keep the current legacy systems using Excel spreadsheets.

Since the PLM module is already included in the MM module, we are able to conduct product lifecycle management analyses for better cost control.

Since the ERP system is dynamic and has many build-in controls, I expect to have perfect records and zero errors when running transactions.

The benefits of implementing the ERP system will be immediately reflected as increases in operating income and earnings in the current year. If not, we will abandon the ERP system and switch back to our traditional system.
