At the height of COVID-19 pandemic, more than 120,000 businesses temporarily closed, and more than 30 million U.S. workers were unemployed. In 2022, employers ended up adding an unprecedented 4.5 million jobs. At the same time, millions of Americans have been leaving labor forces, 1.4 million fewer Americans are participating in a labor forces company today. While labor shortages increase, studies have shown moving towards a four-day work week has benefited employees. Making 32 hours instead of 40 hours work weeks has improved well-being for workers without a loss of productivity for businesses. Worldwide companies have started to use four-day work weeks for more than a year, those have seen major improvements in employees' productivity. I personally believe four-day work weeks and school weeks should become a worldwide schedule. I always feel unmotivated on Fridays.
