Optimum Agriculture has seen an opportunity to expand into the Australian market and are seeking available land, however, there has been a growing interest amongst members of the Board to increase investment into pre- existing operations in Europe and South America. The demand for seasonal vegetables pa rticularly has seen a significant increase in the price and demand in the south Pacic region which Optimum Excelsior is interested in leveraging. The location The Riverland region of South Australia has been identied as suitable locations due to strong agricultural infrastructure, fertile land, and expertise. The Optimum Agriculture Board believes they have the funding and expertise to take on this new venture, however, questions remain about the viability of this expansion project particularly regarding external considerations such as barriers and risks ofwhich they are not aware. Considerations The Board has identied several important, and possibly project dening, areas of investigation that need to be addressed before the project goes into the planning stage. They are acutely aware that these may not be fully representative of all the key issues, nor are they convinced that these are the substantive issues critical to determine the viability of the project. They do not have the resources, or expertise in-house to determine the viability of the project, or awareness of all the issues they need to consider in making this investment, and that is why they have approached lnspr'rovit international.
