Comparable store sales for the first quarter of fiscal year 2016 increased 5.1%, compared to a comparable store sales increase of 2.5% in the first quarter of fiscal year 2015. The Company saw improvement in same store sales as a result of a targeted promotional strategy that helped drive increased traffic to Company stores. The Company also continues to experience growth in e-commerce sales that are up by more than 20% over the previous comparable period. Gross margin as a percentage of net sales increased to 54.5% in the first quarter of fiscal year 2016 compared to 53.0% in the first quarter of fiscal year 2015. The increase in gross margin as a percentage of net sales for the first quarter of fiscal year 2016 as compared to the comparable fiscal year 2015 period was due primarily to higher full price sales as a percentage of total sales coupled with higher margin rates achieved on both full price and non-full price sales at stores.
