Based on our Behavioral Ethics sub$-$chapter and class videos$/$discussions$,$ the definition of "cognitive dissonance" occurs when a person is pressured to do something they are sure is unethical, but they cannot remember the relevant frameworks or steps to ethical decision making, and thus they give in to the pressure.
