Based on the 2 letters below, please what could the short answers to the following questions during an assumed interview be?
- Why are you interested in the Shipping Clerk position ?
- Why should we choose you?
1 This letter is to note that Fernand, the current Fabrication Scale on 1st shift, expressed interest in becoming a Team Leader a month ago thus joining the Austin Management Leadership Team. In lieu of his interest, I have laid out a development plan for Fernand which first steps will be to expose him to more challenging opportunities within the office. I therefore am approving Fernands request to apply for the Shipping Clerk position on 2nd shift. This position, granted acceptance, will give him a new set of knowledge and more relevant experience he would need to be considered a candidate worthy of Team Leader position.
2 Dear Hiring Manager,
I am writing to express my strong interest in the Shipping Clerk-2nd Shift position at the Hormel
Foods Austin Plant Facility, as advertised. With my current role as a Fabrication Scale Clerk, my
previous experiences in quality control and forklift operation, and my global perspective, I am
confident that I am well-suited to excel in this position and contribute positively to the company.
In my current role as a Fabrication Scale Clerk, I have honed my skills in accurately weighing and
recording products received from QPP using electronic scales. This experience has equipped me
with a keen eye for detail and the ability to handle important data and documentation accurately.
I understand the significance of precise measurements for production reporting, yield reporting,
and efficient transfer to other departments, which are critical skills for a Shipping Clerk.
Moreover, my previous experiences, especially my time in the Quality Control Department, have
given me valuable insights into the operations of the Shipping department. My experience in
checking temperature and recording code dates of inbound loads, as well as my ability to operate
a forklift, will undoubtedly contribute to my success as a Shipping Clerk. My familiarity with the
department's layout and forklift safety procedures adds to my ability to seamlessly transition into
this role.
I believe what truly sets me apart is my global perspective, gained through my gospel mission and
genealogy field auditing contract in West Africa. I bring a holistic approach to problem-solving and
effective time management skills, which are essential for ensuring smooth operations in a fastpaced shipping environment.
In addition to my English proficiency, I am fluent in French, allowing me to effectively communicate
with individuals who speak multiple languages, which can be valuable in a multicultural workplace.
As a current student in the FlexPace AS Business Transfer Pathway program with Riverland, I am
dedicated to continuous learning and self-improvement. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss
how my qualifications and experiences align with the requirements of this position and how I can
contribute to the continued success of the Company.
Thank you for considering my application. Please do not hesitate to contact me to schedule an interview.
