Based on the the series, police used different tactics to get these boys to make false confession and be in jail for a crime they did not commit. The first tactic was isolating the boys into different rooms and not contacting neither their parents or lawyers to be in the room while they being questioned. A second tactic was giving the boys false promises of being able to go home if they confessed to the crimes. A third tactic was giving the boys details of the crime (which they had no idea of so of course, they were agreeing with police). A fourth tactic was refusing to give the boys food, water or rest.
