Based upon my perspective approximating 45 years of observing and experiencing the US legal system, in its operation and application to a myriad of issues in both civil and criminal matters, is it a fair and just system for its stakeholders ? i.e. plaintiffs, defendants, victims, the public, etc. Certainly every system post inception and through its development as it matures, may require some adjustment or modification to retain its viability. In your opinion, what works well ? what are its deficiencies and what needed recommendations can you offer to improve its function ?
