The time frame of the Vandelay case is the late 1990s. Enterprise systems are taking off, but we don't really know a lot yet, and we're sort of advancing the discipline real-time as we go along. However, some were out in front of this challenge: Tom Davenport, for example.

i) What do you think from the Vandelay case is every bit as relevant (100% relevant or very close) today in 2023 as it was 25 years ago? ii) Then: what from the Vandelay case has changed over time...how much, and why?
