Followers of content creators are extremely loyal and alter their own beliefs and values to fit the same of these creators. That causes an influx of votes for a certain candidate that other candidates may not receive. This leads into another point considering the equal-time rule. The equaltime rule is a specification that American television and radio programs must provide equal access to competing political candidates. I understand that this rule is for the primary candidates to equally share their cases, but not applying a version of this rule to social media platforms is just as detrimental as not allowing it for television and radio broadcasting due to many others taking this role into their own hands and sharing on behalf of the candidates.
