Below is a list of questions that must be answered for this assignment as well as the city where the CANNABIS business will be located. For this assignment, you must provide thorough responses to each question to satisfy the underwriters and help them make a decision about insuring the business.

Most, if not all, of the questions will ask for specific information about the CANNABIS business. Assume that you are familiar with the ins and outs of the business and are authorized to answer the questions. In other words, you are free to make up responses that will satisfy the question being asked. If a question asks about security measures for a physical building, provide a response that makes sense. The purpose of this exercise is to recognize risks and ways to mitigate them.

ASSIGNMENT

Cultivation:

Please outline the general security measures (fencing, locks, video surveillance, etc.) that will be used to ensure physical security of cannabis plants?

What safety measures are in place to prevent fire or water damage to crops? Is the grow center equipped with smoke detectors, a sprinkler system, or fire extinguishers? If so, what models and when were they last updated?

What training do employees undergo in order to work in the grow center?

What mechanisms are in place to protect outdoor plants during the growing season in inclement weather such as scorching high temperatures and frost?

Manufacturing (extraction and refinement):

Identify all types of manufactured products that will be produced at the facility.

Identify all types of extraction methods and any solvents used in the production process.

For any processes using volatile solvents or other materials, identify the safety measures that will be used to mitigate any risk of fire, explosion, suffocation, or other dangerous conditions.

What security measures will be used to ensure physical security of all input, output, and byproduct materials?

How are products tested at the conclusion of the extraction process?

Retail:

What on-site security measures has the dispensary taken to discourage the possibility of theft? How many cameras are present on the premises and where? How many security guards are employed? Is there 24/7 surveillance?

What is the range of inventory value that the dispensary will carry on a daily basis?

What methods of payment will the dispensary accept?

How is cash handled at the end of the day? Who is responsible for transporting cash? Is it outsourced? Does the company work with any state-chartered banking institutions?

Online ordering (curbside, pickup, and delivery):

What protocols will the business implement to ensure consumers are 21 years of age or older before allowing them to pick-up or to have their products delivered?

Describe the processes/programs used to secure data when conducting online transactions

How will the business ensure that customers do not exceed daily limits between the ability to order in-person and online?

Delivery and other transportation:

Describe the fleet vehicles you will be using to deliver cannabis

What security measures are in place in vehicles for product storage during deliveries and transportation?

Are delivery vehicles marked with the companys name, logo, or any other indication of the cannabis contents of the vehicle?

What logs or other records will be maintained for deliveries and shipments?

Advertising:

Does the business advertise on the outside of the building that cannabis and cannabis products are sold there? If so, provide pictures or copies of all written advertising?

Does the business advertise through social media or any online channels of advertising?

Does the business advertise through billboards, print literature, or other channels of physical advertising?
