Betty thought she had found the Ideal place to transform Into her 'personal rebranding studio' - a run-down, yet charming old warehouse that was owned by Stephen, he was pleasantly surprised when Betty approached him as he sat on his porch smoking a cigarette and offered him $500 a week in rent for the warehouse next door. Although Stephen was reasonably secure in his finances, "a little bit extra for the pokies can't hurt", he thought. "Should we get this drawn up properly?" he asked.

Betty assured him: "This is as proper as it gets -trust me, I got a job, $500 a week, I'll even give you the first month upfront right now", she said, opening her purse to reveal a fistful of hundred-dollar bills. "Fair enough, you've got a deal", said Stephen, and handed both Betty the keys to the warehouse and (despite Betty's protests that she didn't need one) a signed piece of scrap paper acknowledging his receipt of the first instalment of rent for the premises.

After a month of monotonous photography, Betty decides she has had enough of this whole fashion and style lark and decides to take up an offer to become a consultant. She says to Stephen "well It was fun while It lasted - too bad we never had a contract!" Stephen Is quite annoyed - he was rather looking forward to some extra money for the pokies.

What the issue between Betty and Stephen, what case can be applied?
