Biology and criminal behavior The connection of biology to criminal behavior is key factor that helps us to know some of the most likely criminal activities that we are likely to encounter in our societies. The evidence in this case exposes to us that most of the youths are likely to engage in criminal activities because of the biological aspects which can either be acquired directly from the parents or can be caused by the environmental factors. There are also some of the biological behaviors that seem to be normal to parents as their children are growing. These behaviors become part of the child development but later they contribute to criminal behaviors. In comparison of gender boys have been considered to have dispute behaviors which are likely to contribute to criminal behaviors as compared to girls. Biology has greater and broad influence to our social stimuli which helps us to identify some of the characteristics. Some of the biological influence stimuli such as poor social skills contribute to isolation. Youths who are antisocial are likely to engage in some deviant behaviors which may contribute to criminal activities because they always feel that they are rejected by their peer groups. Parents who are suffering from mental health problem for instance, mothers who are suffering from psychological problems or mothers who are alcohol consumers during their pregnancy are likely to give birth to children who are antisocial and are emotionally unstable. Substance misuse and criminality parents have high chances to transmit some serious effects to their children when both parents are involved drug abuse and criminality the children may encounter some Behavioral disorders such as criminal activities, mental illness. Families that are broken may also cause deviant behaviors to their children because of lack of proper parental guidance. Children of the teenage mothers are likely to face disorders (Huizinga, Loeber, Thornberry, & Cothern, 2000). Children born from poor families are likely to involve in criminal activities because of their poor economic situations. Cognitive deficit is also one of the biological social influence which is contributing behavior disorders children with this behavior disorder develop language problem which creates a platform for their failures or underperformance in school hence leads to feel isolated and may decide to enter into criminal behaviors. Genetic also explains that genes from the parents can be passed from them to their children and single gene that is Behavioral disorder can lead to some criminal activities. This explains that if either of the parents has gene that contains criminal disorder then the children is likely to acquire such genes. Temperament is the behavior that appears to children after birth. Children who are faced with the challenge of having difficulties with their temperament are likely to have problems in their behaviors. This affects their relationship socially hence drives them to criminal behaviors to accommodate their emotions. Problems with school now poor academic performance leads to school dropout among the youths this has created loopholes for the youths to involve in the deviant behaviors because of idleness hence they end up in criminal activities which they consider as their source of survival this happens because they luck basic knowledge and skills to earn a living. In terms of gender males who are dropping out school are deviant than the number of females. Biology has a big contribution to our response in terms of criminal activities. It helps us to know how to respond to our biological stimuli to safeguard our behavioral disorders (Allgood, Mustard, & Warren, 1999). Based on the article, answer the following: 1. Relate what you have learned from our topic (Bio Psychological Processes) to the topic of this article. Cite specific proof/evidence. 2.
