Bob drives past a pick-up truck on the side of the road with a "For Sale" sign on it. He calls the number listed on the sign. Sally, the truck's seller, cannot meet with Bob that day to show him the truck, so Bob agrees to have his brother, Andy, meet with Sally the next day to inspect the truck. At the meeting, Sally tells Andy that she has owned the truck for 10 years, has driven it across the country multiple times, and the engine has always run really well. Andy purchases the truck for Bob with cash and signs a bill of sale, which says the truck is being sold "As is" (i.e. without any warranty). Andy then drives the truck to Bob's house. Five miles outside of town, the truck begins to rattle violently and then dies on the highway.
