Consider the token ring network shown. Assume only Node 2 has data to send over
shared channel of 500Kbps, where the bits travel at a rate of 100ms and nodes
spaced apart by 5 meters. All data frames are of size 2500 bits and all tokens are of size
200 bits. One rownd consists of allowing all 4 nodes a chance to transmit a
frame and the token retuming to Node 1. In this example, only Node 2 has data
to transmit, so only one data frame would be transmitted during a round.
Determine the amount of time needed for one full round to complete, assuming thr
token starts at Node 1. Recall that a node can only transmit once it receives the toke
and then once its frame has traversed the entire ring, does it pass the token on to the
next node.
