Bradford, an executive at a shoe manufacturing company, was approached by a competitor company and offered a wonderful job. He accepted and moved with his family to the new company’s office in a different state. Six months later, the company decided to manufacture tires instead of shoes and fired Bradford. Bradford brings suit for damages and reinstatement of his position.

If the state in which Bradford was fired is an “employment-at-will” state, may the company fire Bradford for any reason whatsoever?
