Break-Even Sales Under Present and Proposed Conditions

Darby Company, operating at full capacity, sold 157,800 units at a price of $69 per unit during the current year. Its income statement is as follows:

Sales $10,888,200
Cost of goods sold 3,864,000
Gross profit $7,024,200
Expenses:
Selling expenses $1,932,000
Administrative expenses 1,150,000
Total expenses 3,082,000
