British Airways (BA) in its route between London-New Delhi currently competes with Virgin Atlantic as well as Air India.Prior to the entry of Virgin Atlantic, BA asked for more flight quotas from the Indian government and cut fares at the same time but the fares remained above its average costs.

a)Could this fare-cutting be considered as "predatory pricing"? Why? Why not?

b)Suppose BA and Virgin Atlantic decides behind close doors to fix their fares well above their costs? Is this "price-fixing" to be considered as illegal in the UK and India?
