a) In many journals, when the authors report a result such as 16.81.4, the 1.4 is the standard error of the statistic and not the margin of error. Consider again Brunt et al. (2016). At the bottom of the first paragraph of the results section (page 3205), the authors report summary statistics of 61.4 6.5. Explain, in casual terms as if you were explaining to a layperson, the meaning of 6.5 in this situation. Do not refer to a confidence interval in your explanation. You do not need to be technically perfect, but you should give the "truthful gist" of what that number represents.

b) Consider again Brunt et al. (2016). Near the bottom of page 3205, the authors report an F statistic from an ANOVA (F2,40 = 4.965). Give the null hypothesis of this test, in words and symbols, and give an appropriate conclusion that relates to the problem at hand.

c) Pollini et al. (2015) investigate various aspects of marijuana decriminalization on California drivers. In table 3 of this paper, in the 2012 column, the authors report a confidence interval of (20.2, 49.8). Give a proper interpretation of this confidence interval, in the context of the problem. (You may need to read some other parts of this paper to properly interpret the meaning.)
