Pr-planning questionnaire

Prior to beginning work with your group, you will prpare a pre-planning questionnaire based on the questions below. You should make extra questions, they can be open questions or multiply choice (or a combination). Swap your questionnaire with another student and complete the pre-planning questionnaire. The purpose is to identify the principles and ideas you follow when working as part of a team.

  • How different group dynamics can support or hinder team performance
  • What strategies will you use to support team integration, participation and performance?
  • What strategies will you use to gain an overall action plan agreement with your team?
  • What strategies will you use to resolve issues in the team?

Group

Students are to form groups of four (4)

The group is to choose a community service sector

Each team will be made up of different roles within an organisation (e.g. support worker, case manager, line manager, operations manager, CEO).

  • Your team then picks four categories regarding their chosen sector e.g. Training, education, reporting, service delivery etc.
  • Each person takes a category and then goes online and researches 2 policies and 2 procedures on their topic to see if there are any gaps. What could they add to the current policies and procedures? Do they need to create new policies and procedures to achieve a better outcome?

As a team, you need to perform the following activities.

Meeting 1:

  • Develop team rules
  • Identify and discuss one policy or procedure from each team member's topic. Each team member must facilitate the meeting whilst their topic is being discussed.
  • Review existing policies and procedures explain your improvements.
  • Crate a performance development plan (KPI's, how to measure success, required resources)
  • Allocate roles and responsibilities for each team member

Gain feedback

  • Swap your plan with another group for them to review and to give feedback
  • Hold a secondary meeting with your team to discuss feedback received
  • Make adjustments (if necessary) to your plan based on this feedback.

Evluate your performance

After cmpleting the assessment, you need to rview your performance against the pre-planning questionnaire? Did you follow the ideas that you stated before starting the assessment? Did you miss or change any of the ideas? If so, why did this occur?

  • There needs to be an introduction explaining the purpose/objectives of the meetings

  • You must maintain open communication and be supportive of your team members.
  • You must write one policy and one procedure on your sector topic

Each student is to make a report based on their topic, under the headings of the performance plan. E.g. resources, timelines, roles and responsibilities
