Budgeting assignment
WEDDING PLANNING Part II: Budgeting Your brother Randy was very grateful for your help in identifying the expenses that he and his fianc, Melissa should include in the budget for their wedding. Your parents and Melissa's are thrilled about the wedding and each have offered to pay $15,000 towards the wedding expenses so Randy and Melissa feel confident that they can plan a wedding for $30,000. However, they are still a bit confused about the concept of fixed and variable expenses. Randy and Melissa have moved into a nicer apartment in Boston with an increased monthly rent and they both still have school loans. Therefore, it is important that they stay within the $30,000 budget, so again Randy has asked for your help. Randy and Melissa have been checking on prices, and have given you this list of expenses (see below). They are planning on approximately 200 guests and would like to have the reception at a location in Boston, but need some idea of the total cost before they put down a deposit anywhere. Your task is to analyze their list of expenses, and prepare a budget for Randy and Melissa (you can use Microsoft Excel if you wish). Include the following: Categorize each expense as either fixed or variable. If it's a mixed expense, then identify both the fixed and variable components. Remember you have a guest list of 200 people and a budget of $30,000. LIST OF EXPENSES: The fees for the ceremony are $300. Gratuity for the celebrant is $300.
