Buena Vista Resorts International, one of the leading hotel companies in the world, is always interested in acquiring distressed properties to add to its
property and resort portfolio. Best Jamaican Beach Resort in Montego Bay was once a market leader, but now unfortunately it is in bankruptcy. Customers often complained about the poor customer service of the resort. Additionally, a food poisoning scandal at the resort's in house restaurant created waves of bad publicity across social media. Coincidentally, local government tourist taxes have also been raised 50%. A local competitor has also seen increased business by offering all-inclusive package deals including diving, local cultural sight seeing and culinary tourism. The CEO of Buena Vista is eager to acquire this resort and commits to buy the resort immediately on the spot. However, before the purchase can go through, the company's bank freezes the purchase.... and demands a due diligence report regarding the long term financial sustainability of this purchase. The bank is particularly interested in identifying a new demographic and customer base to drive a prospective profitability of this resort.
