A Job Description is A list of the duties, responsibilities, tasks, working conditions, and other essential elements needed to complete the job in a satisfactory manner as well as the traits, skills, educational background, and personality characteristics needed in the worker (Weathington, B. L. & Weathington, J. G. 2016). Once I get my degree I want to become a hospital registrar and work my way up from there. I need to get familiar with the hospital environment first.

Position Description:

Interview all patients requiring registration, insuring accurate patient information is collected by obtaining the required demographic and financial information and patients are informed of their right and the hospital financial policies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interview patients
  • Provide excellent service
  • Review insurance information
  • Answer telephones forward patients records to insurance verifier
  • Maintains a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments
  • Able to process and read Medicare and other insurance benefits

Minimum Knowledge , Skills and Abilities Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read and write
  • Possess excellent interviewing and communication skills
  • Up to one year service related experience required
  • Interpersonal skills necessary
