Build up the rate for Class 3 formwork to columns per m. The required data are as below:

Assume 3m high 300x300mm column when calculating the quantities and 6 times uses of formwork (plywood and studs)

.19 mm plywood form @ $35/m

Assume 10, 100x50mm studs @ $4/m

Unload timber: productivity = 2.5 hr/m3 (consider unloading plywood and studs, and 1 labourer @ $35/hr)

Nails @ $2.1/kg (include delivery and unloading) - Nails required amount: 0.25 kg/m

Mould oil @ $3.65/litre (include delivery) - Mould oil required amount: 0.15

litre/ m

Clamps: 500mm centres @ $2.5/week - Clamps erecting, standing and dismantling: 1 week

. Allow 5% for waste

Formwork gang - Productivity of gang = 1.5 m/gang-hrs

2 carpenters

4 labourer

Carpenter @ $50/hr

labourer @ $35/hr

Overhead and profit percentage is 8%

Plant cost is considered in preliminaries
