For this homework choose one of the alternatives: (1) finding a multi variable data set and applying multiple regression analysis, or (2) finding a time series data set and applying time series analysis and forecasting. According to your choice follow one of the two recipes below. You may choose your data set from various sources on the Internet. Your submissions must include the RMarkdown/Quarto file and pdf-or-word output of it. (1 or 2 you can choose yourself)

REGRESSION:

The data you choose must include an output variable and at least two predictors, all numerical.

(1) Describe your data set and its source

(2) partition your data into training and test data

(3) produce and fit two regression models using the training data. Compare and interpret the results. Which model is stronger? What can you say about the predictors?

(4) Apply the fitted model to test data. Present and discuss the quality measurements.

TIME SERIES FORECASTING

(1) Describe your data set and its source

(2) partition your data into training and test data, e.g. by removing the last season of time series to be test data.

(3) produce two forecast models using the training data. Compare and interpret the quality measurements. Which model is stronger?

(4) Apply the model to test data. Present and discuss the quality measurements.
