Business Leader (BL) Interview Overview

Each student will choose a Business Leader (BL).The BL needs to be an individual:

  • who is a director level or above;
  • within the student's career choice; and
  • who the student does NOT currently work for or who the student is related to*.

The student will submit a list of a minimum of fifteen (15+) interview questions the student would like to ask / learn from the Business Leader.

Once approved the student will set-up and conduct the interview.

The student will type up the answers to the approved questions and submit.

NOTEs:

  1. Goal is to interview a Business Leader - NOT to be interviewed by the Business Leader.
  2. You are choosing this Business Leader as someone you think you would like to have their position one day.
  3. So do NOT waste their or your time by just getting by or doing the minimum.This is your chance to spend valuable time with someone who could help you in your career.
  4. Make sure you ask / submitopen-ended questions.Meaning not short answer or yes/no questions.

The Business Leader project has several goals:

  • Getting the student out of their comfort zone / stretching limits
  • Networking
  • Finding out more about the student's career choice and what it might take to be successful in that field

*any deviation from the requirements must be by written request detailing in depth the potential justification for the deviation.
