"By taking the time to understand different perspectives, leaders can get a fuller picture of their marketplace, their competitors, and their future. In short, they can begin to see the system in which they operate in all its complexities" (Bopaiah, 2021, p.51). How can we improve how we train leaders to see these special gifts in others while they are contributing to a team? I guess the same question can be asked for each of the teammates as well. How can we train each of the team to see their teammates as possessing their own special gifts? This seems to be at the root of the problem. Certainly, diversity can lead to better decisions as different ideas are shared but it can also create a great deal of conflict. I wonder how much of this conflict could be avoided if we learn to see others this way. What are your thoughts on this? I know this has been addressed in some other threads but I see many of those solutions as environmental factors or organizational culture factors. How do we address these things on a more personal, developmental level?
