The Transferred Out to Next Department section shows units from the beginning work in process inventory and units started and completed in the current month. The latter are determined by subtracting the number of units in the beginning inventory from the total units transferred out of the department (4,800 - 1,880 = 2,920). Note that under the stage of completion of work in process, both the beginning and ending inventory percentages are given. When equivalent units are com- puted, it will be necessary to determine the percentage of cost added to the beginning Units to finish them, as well as the percentage of cost incurred to start the ending units.
