Sleep and Reaction Time

1. Create ahypothesis (1 mark) and specificprediction(s) (3 marks) with respect to the relationship between reaction time and:

a. Sleep Quality

b. Sleep Duration

c. Daytime Dysfunction

Remember, your hypothesis is more general and your prediction is more specific.

2. Use the Class Data that was generated from Group A (week 1) or Group B (week 2) tocreate three BAR graphs (2 marks each). Each bar graph should present the mean reaction time for the different scores of sleep (0 to 3 for Sleep Quality and Sleep Duration, 0 to 6 for Daytime Dysfunction). Reaction time is the dependent variable and should be on the Y-axis and the Sleep measure is the independent variable and should be on the X-axis. Thus, you should have 3 graphs showing the mean reaction time for each score of:

I. Sleep Quality

II. Sleep Duration

III. Daytime Dysfunction

Make sure to:

Include titles for the x-axis (dependent variable) and y-axis (independent variable)

Include units of measurement for the x-axis and y-axis

Include a Figure number and caption (at the bottom of the figure)

3. Describe the relationship that you observe in 2 sentences or less for each Figure (3 marks) for the relationship between Reaction Time and each sleep measure:

a. Sleep Quality

b. Sleep Duration

c. Daytime Dysfunction
