You are to undertake research on the influence of globalisation on an economy, China.

1. A brief outline of your economy incorporating an analysis of trade and financial flows to determine the nature and extent of global interdependence 2. Analysis the following impacts of globalisation on the chosen economy

(i) economic growth & development and quality of life- are people better off as a result of their country being involved in global markets, why or why not. For example, is education better, how many Drs per 1000 people, infant mortality, how many people are still involved in agriculture.

(ii) distribution of income and wealth- who has the wealth in your country, is it evenly shared? (Quality of life and standards of living)

(iii) trade, investment and transnational corporations -- who owns these in your country? Move into global markets

(iv) influence of global organisations on the economy - what has economic growth been like, has GDP risen, unemployment, inflation etc. Effect on economy/ Overall impact of globalisation

(v) environmental consequences- has economic growth affected the environment? How is this being solved?Effect on economy/ Overall impact of globalisation
