Can someone provide an answer for this Millikan experiment question.
Question: Explain, in your own words, why it is not feasible to do this experiment by balancing a single electron in an electric field. Why does it need to be a charged droplet? (Note that we COULD change the direction of the electric fieldr so "the electron is negative" is not the kind of response we are looking for). In your answer, it is a good idea to refer to some relevant numbers and laws of physics. You can answer from the perspective of a physicist today or from the perspective of someone from Millikan and Fletcher's time (who knew less about the electron than we do now). Your answer will be judged on how adequately you explain the issue and how consistent you are with your references to relevant physicsStep by Step Solution
