When I think of a direct store delivery, my first thought goes to Walmart and they have, we shop you pick up, or a submit online order and they will delivery. To answer the question, it is not a Walmart. It is like a drug store or convenience store that is attached to a gas station. The smaller retail stores should use direct store delivery because they do have the room to keep a higher inventory stock.

What kind of retailers would be better served by milk run deliveries?

An example of milk run would be an automotive warehouse. We know that Acura and Honda are made from the same parts. Or even gas stations, when the big fuel trucks are making their stops.
