Executive Summary

One leading components that have gain tremendous attention in today's workplace has been established by organization leaders has been workplace motivation. Workplace motivation in the past for some philosophers, scientist, and theorist has been subjected to various motivational theories and concepts that have been proven ineffective base on workplace application. One for instance would have been established by Maslow who stated that persons are motivated by the five basic needs which are 1. Physiological need, 2.The need for safety, 3.The need to belong, 4. The need for esteem and 5.The need for self-actualization. () For this assignment we will be opening up to understanding most of these well-known motivational concepts which will include context on motivation factors like Organizational age, Industry, & Organizational size.

This will then be follow-up with basic definitions of motivation along with common examples of theories surrounding motivation. Two observable practices that have been implemented by an organization to drive and improve task performance will be reviewed. This will be done to draw a conclusion of how various theories may work in its application stage (real-time), throughout different industries, workplace hence the reason for change. Various theories will be explored on the pros and cons of their ability to enhance organizational effectiveness.
