To determine when and how much cash from these budgeted sales will be collected, the accounting staff developed the following cash collections expectations:
20% of each month's total budgeted sales are expected to be B2B sales to Camping & Sporting Goods Stores
(C&SG). C&S Store customers buy on trade credit, meaning, they don't pay at the time of their sale. They are invoiced by Spotlight and typically pay for their order the month after the sale. Spotlight estimates one half of a percent (.5%), of each months sales to Camping & Sporting Goods stores will not be collected.
80% of each month's total budgeted sales are expected to be to retail customer who order online from the Spotlight website.
Of these online sales:
- 30% of each month's online sales will be paid for in the month of sale using a debit card. Debit cards assess an online processing fee of 1.5% on every sales $ on processing the collection.
- 50% of each month's online sales will be paid for in the month of sale using a credit card. Credit cards assess on an online fee of 2.5% on every sales $ on processing the collection.
- The remaining 20% of each month's online sales will be paid for in the month of sale using a Peer-to-Peer
