Carimusic, the operator of a Caribbean culture Facebook group is considering starting a new on-line music streaming service that offers a complete Caribbean music catalog with regular artiste podcasts. The proposed streaming service will pay higher royalties to Caribbean artistes than other service providers. The membership of the Carimusic Facebook group was surveyed and asked whether they would be willing to pay US$4.99 per month to subscribe to such a streaming service. Table 1 shows the responses to this question broken down by education level of the respondent. The number at the top of each cell is the number of respondents who made the choice. At the bottom of each cell is the number of respondents (in brackets) from each education level who were expected to make the choice. A chi square test of independence was also undertaken. The calculation is below Table 1. The operator is selecting survey respondents for interviews to get more information.
