Case background: This is for a U visa case. The supporting affidavit for this case must cover the following points: Biographic information; Description of the crime; Helpfulness to law enforcement; Substantial Injury as a result of the crime; Ongoing effects of the crime. Reorganize the client's statement with the above points in mind. How would you rearrange the statements to make the affidavit readable, chronological, and credible? CLIENT NOTES I was in the hospital for an injury to my head. This happened after a man with a gun pulled a gun on me and took my wallet. He kicked me many times after I fell on the ground. I blacked out and when I woke up, I was being put into an ambulance. This happened because I used to use a public phone in a shopping center near my house. I had just arrived in the USA and did not have a cell phone yet. I used that phone when our landline was being used. At the time, I lived with four other roommates in a house nearby. This night, June 30, 2005, it was about 11 o'clock at night that I was attacked. The ambulance took me to the hospital. The doctor there stitched my head. The police came to the hospital to talk to me. I told them all I could remember. I told them I could not see the man's face because he had a mask, but he spoke English. Because I did not speak English at that time, I did not know what he said. Then, I saw the gun. I come from Quetzaltepeque, El Salvador. I came to the USA in April 2005. In 2005, I did not know English. All I could say was "take it easy." That is what I told the man when he got out of his truck and approached me as I was using the phone. The, I saw the gun. He hit me, kicked me, and I remember nothing more. My wallet was stolen. There was about $300 in it, photos, business cards, phone cards, my Salvadoran ID. I presume he took it because it was gone when I checked at the hospital. I suffered a concussion. I have headaches to this day. When I woke up in the ambulance, I was covered with blood. It was a nightmare that I still think of to this day. While I did not see my attacker's face, I remembered very well the ten-year-old red Ford F-150 he was driving. I knew this truck because we had the same kind of truck at my landscaping job. I told this to the police officers at the hospital. They took my number and said they would call me for more information. I said I would help them catch this man because I do not want him to hurt anyone else. I was in the hospital for two days. Two days after I came home from the hospital, the police called me to help identify the truck. They told me they arrested a man in the same parking lot the very next night. They also told me that my wallet was still inside the truck. The brought me several photos of the truck. It was the same truck. I signed a statement saying this was the same truck and all that happened to me. The situation was unreal. I was 21 years old. Nothing like that had ever happened to me before. I had never talked to a police officer in my life or ever been in a hospital. I could not work for several weeks, my head hurt so much and the light would hurt my eyes. My roommates had to take care of me. I was very lucky they were there to help me because my family was far away in El Salvador. The police kept in touch with me during the prosecution of my attacker. They asked if I would testify and I said I would. Later they called me to tell me it was not necessary because he pled guilty and confessed. He said he attacked many immigrants because he did not think they would call the police. Now that 15 years has gone by, I live in Austin with my wife and two children. I am writing this to support my U visa application. I was born on July 10, 1984. When the crime happened, I lived in Elgin, Texas. The crime happened at Elgin Village shopping center
