CASE - ONALI ENTERTAINMENT GROUP INC. Olya Onali., President of Onali Entertainment Group Inc., an event services company located in Yorkville, Ontario, does not know what else to do. She increased base pay, increased vacation days, and decreased the skill requirements. She added a productivity-based pay system as well. She still cannot find enough people to hire as event workers for the company. Ms. O. thinks that this issue is strictly due to a strengthening economy, which means higher demand and a lower supply of workers. However, perhaps more can be done to attract the right workers. The company is continuously growing its market footprint and therefore, a need for event workers is an ongoing concern. The lack of workers is the company's top concern. Olya is having trouble recruiting enough of the right workers. To get as many ideas as possible for solving this problem, she has worked with management to hire three different consultants. One consultant is an adherent of the classical managerial strategy, one consultant is an adherent of the human relations managerial strategy, and the last consultant is an adherent of the high-involvement managerial strategy.
