Case studies are about real life situations. They involve an in-depth observation of a "case" such as an event, process or person. Relate the case with the theories that learn in the class and if possible give some suggestion or solution. The task is to examine a company's marketing strategy, human resources policy, financial performance or some other aspect of their business with which they are experiencing difficulties or which may be undergoing change. Once you have decided the scope of the assignment you are dealing with, you will need to work out a structure within which to present your answer clearly. This might include: a) Background to the case - the individual or the organisation you are studying and what has happened that is of interest or concern. b) Your observations: not only what is going on but why, how, when and who is affected? c) What the experts/industries or market player and researcher (may refer to THE EDGE an etc.) have to say about this topic. d) Do your observations align with theories on this topic or not? e) What are your conclusions? :) Do you have recommendations? g) What are the reasons for your recommendations? The report should consist of: Introduction/ background of the study Background of the company Issue of concern Discussion/ Data and methodology Conclusion/Recommendations References Appendices The assignment should not be more than 15 pages
