Case Study 2:Choose the appropriate statistical test (with the necessary assumptions and the rationale for choosing the test) to answer the 4 research questions based on the following case study scenario.

The intent of the Case study 2 is to test the decision-making regarding statistical tests rather than the execution of the statistical analysis itself. You don't need to access the data or perform any statistical analysis or comparison. You only have to write which statistical test is applicable in this scenario to answer these research questions (A -D). Based on the available information (1. whether data is normally distributed or not, type of the variable numerical or categorical, and 3. the research question) you need to decide which is the most appropriate statistical test for answering this research question in your opinion. In this task, you are only expected to tell your choice (name of the statistical test,) and the reason for choosing this statistical test for this scenario.

A case-control study was conducted of 75 cases with a rare genetic disorder "Disease Y," and 134 controls without the disease. The cases were patients recruited through a hospital clinic that provides treatment for the disease; the controls were randomly selected from patients without Disease Y who attended the same clinic for treatment of other diseases. All study participants provided a blood sample and completed a lifestyle and demographic questionnaire. The objective of this study was to find lifestyle factors that might relate to the risk of Disease Y. Two pathological measurements (M1 and M2) were collected on each of the blood samples and are suspected to be related to the risk of developing Disease Y. You are requested to analyze the data of the study.

Research question A:To see if there is an association between disease Y and M2 the researchers wanted to seek the answer to the question -- Do the cases and controls differ in average M2? (Distribution of M2 are presented in the following histogram). (10 Marks)
