CASE STUDY -1 [Assessment Event 2 and Assessment Event 3]
Sydney City Council takes pride in its annual New Year fireworks event that has become an identity of Australia as far as New Year Celebrations are concerned. However, ever since drone shows have been introduced, there have been increasing calls to use drones instead of fireworks to reduce carbon footprint. Although so far Sydney City Council has publicly rejected the demands to have a drones show on new year, it has decided to pursue an opportunity to have drone show on ANZAC day to mark the bravery of Australian Defence Forces.
The site chosen for the drone show is around Circular quay /opera side keeping in view the ease of access and number of people who can attend. Since there are already fireworks on harbour bridge on new year and fireworks from opera house on Australia Day, the drone show shall enable the organiser to tell the story through drones show and be environment safe as well. It is extremely important for the organisers that the ANZAC day celebrations should be eventful and impactful to match the expectations of general public. The drone show is expected to be of medium to large size drone show with approximately 600-1000 drones in the show. There is a total of AUD 5 Million set aside for this project. The drone show shall last for 8-12 minutes, however, the organisers intend to supplement the show with an entertainment program like concert, kids show etc to engage the visitors. A comprehensive media and advertisement campaign is planned to be carried out which is expected to pull large crowds to the venue, thereby requiring efficient and effective logistics planning and management. The Project is in an early inception stage and the organisers are looking for young and dynamic group of professionals to handover the reign of Project Planning and coordination, which shall be a guiding force to ensure the successful delivery of the event that my leave a lasting impact in the eyes and minds of the general public and tourists from all around the world who are visiting the country in those days. The Project has following objectives
- Procurement of vendor services to execute the project
- Arrange logistics to ensure the execution of the project
- Supplementing drone show with additional entertainment (Concert, lights, kids amusement etc) to attract public
- Marketing campaign to ensure enough crowd is pulled and people of town generally get the message about the execution of the project and its dates.
