CASE STUDY 1: TEAM BUILDING PROGRAM

As part of the staff motivational program that you manage at ANIBT Hotel each year, ANIBT hotel will be closed on the first Monday in July when the whole staff is paid to participate in a fun-filled and valuable staff team building program developed by the HR department.

In the past it has provided a safe and supportive environment to improve and overcome communication barriers within the staff.

Part 1

HR requires you to be part of the new program development and has requested that you need to develop two practical exercises that will encourage and build effective teamwork amongst all staff.

The exercises must involve team co- operation and your task will be to advise staff of the exercise requirements and observe them undertaking the exercise.

Your programs must be developed for groups of 5 individuals.

The exercises should focus on:

time management skills,

problem-solving and decision-making skills,

and Effective teamwork & teamwork communication.

Part 2

Write analysis and description of the two team building exercises you have developed in terms of:

A)List the objectives of each exercise to indicate that HR is demonstrating its leadership capacity at ANIBT Hotel.

B) Describe the outcomes and how they can benefit the personnel and staff at ANIBT Hotel.

C)Describe the issues that staff will encounter during the exercise and how they would need to overcome these.

D)Decide on the rewards and recognition the staff will get when they take part in your exercise.
