Case Study #2 OPTIONS

Option #1 - Hotel Security Assessment

You are to visit a local hotel or motel in your community and do a basic security risk assessment of the property. Follow the five-step risk analysis process that was explained in the week three lecture. You shouldONLYdo a visual inspection of the exterior of the hotel (e.g. you do not need to go into the hotel and bother the staff or guests). It might be helpful to do the inspection in the evening or at night (e.g. quality of lighting in the parking lot) but it is not mandatory. Using the five-step process answer the following questions: what is the operating environment of the hotel? what are some security risks? how likely are these risks to occur? how might these security risks affect hotel operations? how are these security risks currently treated (or feel free to suggest security solutions if you feel there are deficiencies). You are free to submit your report in any format you like (e.g., word, powerpoint, H5P, etc). You should provide the name and location of the hotel. You should also take aminimum of fourrelevant pictures of the hotel's exterior (e.g. poor parking lot lighting, lack of security signage, existance of security cameras, secure perimeter fencing, etc) and include in your report to support your findings.
