Case Study #7:

The data set Cell Phone Service.xls contains hourly data on weather conditions and call performance for a wireless network. The three variables included in the data set are Hour and Pressure: Barometric pressure in inches of mercury at the end of the hour Wind Speed: Wind speed measured in miles per hour at the end of the hour Bad Calls (%): Percentage of bad calls relative to the total number of calls made that hour. Perform a comprehensive analysis to understand what the data tell you about the impact of weather conditions on call performance. Make sure your analysis provides answers to the questions listed below:

1. Obtain the summary statistics for the variables and comment on them.

2. Comment on the distributions of data for the variables? Are they symmetrical? Skewed?

3. Obtain the correlations between variables and comment on them?

4. Perform a multiple linear regression analysis with % of bad call as the response variable and wind speed and pressure as the predictor variables.

5. State the regression equation and interpret the regression coefficients.

6. Comment on the goodness of fit of the regression equation for the data.

7. Explain how you will use the regression equation to predict % bad calls given the wind speed and pressure.

This is only a sample of the data. This data set has over 2000 rows:
