Case study
Cavities is a home based dental service that employs dental technicians, oral health care professionals that are qualified to perform oral assessments (check-ups) but are not qualified to perform dental work as dentists are. Dental technicians visit elderly people in their homes and, for a fee that is similar to standard check-up fee, record a video scan of the customers teeth. This is uploaded to the Cavities Cloud server for a qualified Dentist to do the assessment using a high resolution screen. The customer receives the assessment by SMS and if extra dental work is need, they are also sent a list of the closest dental practices. The business canvas below represents the Cavities model.

- Cavities has re-thought its business model and has identified that as well as charging the customer, dentists in the customers area can be approached. Local dentists can be invited to pay to be listed on the SMS a customer receives. This will help the local dentists advertise their services specifically to people who need dental work.
