Tuesday, February 18th,2020 Dan Davis, newly-appointed General Manager, at Trikota Banking Corp. has his first meeting with his Senior Executives. He soon learns that Joe Brent (Loans Manager) feels very strongly about the poor-quality staff allocated to his department. Tony Wood ( HR Manager) defends the selection process he has been using, and indicates he has taken extra special care over recruitment for and transfer to the Advances Department since the latest series of complaints from Brent. "I appreciate you need high quality staff to vet the applications for the more substantial loans and overdrafts," he says. "Well, things don't get any better," says Brent," I don't blame Personnel, but there aren't many of these fellows who wouldnt have made cashier when I joined the bank. Psssh!"

Dan Davis is grateful when this particular disagreement dies down so that the meeting can get on with more important matters. Last year's profits were below the target set by the Holding Company and Dan's brief is to ensure that this year's slightly more modest target is met.

Friday, March 6th,2020 Joe Brent is on the telephone in his office. "Yes, I am am still overworked! I've been without a Personal Assistant for 3 weeks now. What's that? Oh him! He just didn't have a clue. He gave in his notice after 6 weeks. I've got someone else coming on Monday. Tony Wood says he's the cat's whiskers, but he said the same about the last one.Another College boy. Still wet behind the ears. I've never had a good one yet."

Mr. Davis' personal assistant is drained as a result of Joe Brents complaints and uttered to Tony, "I think Brent ought to give his new staff a formal induction programme when they join him," he confides, "I also think he needs reminding that staff turnover is expensive.
