  • OPINION ON COMPETENCY TO STAND TRIAL: The defendant was assessed for competency to stand trial using assessment criteria developed by McGarry and also by the MacArthur Competence Assessment Tool-Criminal Adjudication (MacCAT-CA). Both criteria measure certain areas of knowledge and mental ability that are useful in a court setting.
