You are a support worker caring for Gerald, a 75-year-old gentleman who has dementia that has caused a significant loss of memory. Due to his impaired cognitive functioning, he quite often thinks that he is 25 years old and expects to be treated in that manner. Gerald's behaviour can be quite challenging especially when he insists on going for a run during midday. It can be very difficult to get him to wear his clothes, as he often forgets to put on some item of his clothing and when you try to help him, he gets upset. When Gerald is upset, his language is very rude and aggressive. On certain days, when Gerald's behaviour is particularly challenging, it can be very stressful for you.
